Chiriquí quiere afianzarse como un paraíso turístico / Chiriquí seeks to set itself apart as a tourist paradise.

La provincia de Chiriquí es para los turistas nacionales y extranjeros el paraíso propicio para pasar momentos agradables, por la diversidad que brinda en materia de playas, ríos, montañas y un clima agradable.
Idu Ribeiro, presidente de la Comisión de Turismo de la Cámara de Comercio de Chiriquí, aseguró que existen 2,000 habitaciones entre hoteles, hostales, cabañas y posadas, que son ocupadas en un 100% durante el Carnaval y la Feria de San José de David.
“Los hoteles brindan una oferta turística agradable, que incluye actividades de playa, montañas, pesca, avistamiento de aves, caminatas por Senderos y Canopy, lo que significa diversión sana para los visitantes que buscan disfrutar en familia”, afirmó.
Agregó que se brinda una gama de precios de alojamiento, según el hotel, hostal o cabaña, que incluyen desayuno, almuerzo y paquetes de actividades.
Muchos extranjeros
En el caso de los extranjeros, los norteamericanos, españoles y brasileños aprovechan los paquetes de pesca que ofrecen algunos hostales y hoteles ubicados en el área de Boca Chica, en el distrito de San Lorenzo.
Otra parte de los turistas son venezolanos, colombianos y ticos, quienes utilizan su estadía para realizar también contactos de negocios. Sin embargo, el mayor número de extranjeros son de Costa Rica, debido a la campaña que se ha realizado en ese país y a las facilidades de compras que ofrece la ciudad de David.
En esa ciudad hay empresas de franquicias reconocidas, lo que se complementa con las facilidades de viajar por carretera, desde Costa Rica. La mayor parte de los hoteles están David, Boquete y Bugaba, contando con fácil movilidad desde David.

For many domestic and foreign tourists, the province of Chiriquí is an idyllic paradise. The diverse landscapes, from beaches and rivers to mountains, combined with a pleasant climate, make it the perfect place to have a good time.
Idu Ribeiro, president of the Tourism Committee of the Chiriquí Chamber of Commerce, confirmed that the city's 2,000 rooms, whether in hotels, hostels, cabins or lodges, are 100% full during the San José de David Carnival and Fair.
“The hotels offer a complete tourist package, including activities on the beach or in the mountains, fishing, bird-watching, hiking trails and canopy, which means wholesome fun for those visitors who wish to enjoy a family vacation,” he said.
Ribeiro added that prices range depending on the hotel, hostels or cabin, and whether they include breakfast, lunch and activity packages.
Many foreigners
Foreigners, such as Americans, Spaniards and Brazilians, take advantage of the fishing packages offered by some hostels and hotels located in the Boca Chica region, in the district of San Lorenzo.
Other tourists, like those from Venezuela, Colombia and Costa Rica, make use of their visit to establish business contacts. By far the largest number of foreigners are Costa Ricans, thanks to a tourism promotion campaign held in this country, easy ground transportation and shopping attractions in Panama.
The city of David lures shoppers with its well-known franchise companies, and visitors can stay the night there or easily travel from David to the other main hotels in Boquete and Bugaba.
